The Department of German Language and Literature at Heidelberg University focuses on German literature and language from historical and contemporary perspectives. Heidelberg’s German studies offer a full German Studies programme with the sub-disciplines of Modern German Literature, Linguistics, and Medieval Studies (older language and literature).
